Production Terms

All commercial filming, editorial shoots and brand activations at Villa Biscaya are subject to these terms.

Effective: May 2025

Approvals & Pre-Production

  • All production enquiries must be submitted in writing prior to any confirmed access.

  • A full brief including production type, crew numbers, equipment requirements, access times and intended usage must be provided at time of enquiry.

  • Villa Biscaya reserves the right to approve or decline any production at its sole discretion.

  • Confirmed bookings require a signed Production Agreement and payment of the required deposit before any access is granted.

Commercial Filming Requirements

  • All commercial productions (including TVCs, fashion campaigns, editorial shoots and branded content) must hold appropriate public liability insurance of no less than $10 million AUD.

  • A current certificate of currency must be provided to Villa Biscaya prior to the production date.

  • All production activity must remain within the agreed boundaries of the property as specified in the Production Agreement.

  • Drone filming, use of pyrotechnics or any specialised equipment requires prior written approval.

Crew Conduct & Access

  • All crew members are expected to conduct themselves professionally and with respect for the property and its surroundings.

  • Villa Biscaya is a private residential estate. All crew must adhere to the access arrangements specified in the Production Agreement.

  • No crew member, client or talent may access areas of the property not expressly included in the agreed scope.

  • Parking arrangements will be specified in the Production Agreement. Additional vehicle access is subject to prior approval.

Equipment & Property

  • All equipment must be transported, positioned and removed with care to avoid damage to the property, gardens, finishes and landscaping.

  • Heavy equipment, rigging, scaffolding or any installation that may affect the structure or grounds requires specific written approval.

  • Any damage caused by the production team, talent, crew or contractors will be assessed by Villa Biscaya and invoiced to the client.

  • The client is responsible for restoring all areas of the property to their original condition upon completion of the production.

Restoration Responsibilities

The client is responsible for returning the property to its pre-production condition at the conclusion of the shoot. Any costs associated with cleaning, repairs, garden restoration or reinstatement of the property will be deducted from the security bond or invoiced directly to the client.

Overtime & Extended Access

  • Access times are strictly as agreed in the Production Agreement.

  • Any extension of access beyond the agreed wrap time is subject to an overtime fee, charged in 30-minute increments at the applicable hourly rate.

  • Overtime rates apply automatically and do not require additional agreement to apply.

Usage Rights

  • The production rate does not include any assignment of intellectual property rights over the Villa Biscaya name, brand or likeness.

  • Permission to reference or tag Villa Biscaya in published content must be agreed separately in writing.

  • Usage of Villa Biscaya imagery in advertising, campaigns or media beyond the agreed scope requires prior written approval.

Security Bond

A security bond is required for all production bookings. The bond amount will be specified in the Production Agreement and is refundable upon satisfactory completion of the restoration inspection, typically within 7 business days of the production date.
